Annual Race to Zero run/walk fundraiser supports survivors of sexual violence and their families

Runners, walkers, families and community members are invited to participate in the Race to Zero 5K Run and 1-mile family walk on Sunday, Sept. 20, at Independence Grove Forest Preserve, 16400 Buckley Road, Libertyville.

Registration is $35 and begins at 8 a.m., followed by the timed 5K at 9 a.m., and the 1-mile family walk at 9:15 a.m. Participants of all ages, abilities and fitness levels can participate individually, form a team, or join a team.

Race to Zero benefits the Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center, which supports survivors of sexual violence and raises funds for the center’s free counseling, advocacy, crisis line, prevention education and community outreach.
