Aurora man accused of dealing meth, cannabis

An Aurora man is facing drug charges after an investigation by the Aurora police.

Alberto Diaz-Vargas. 40, is charged with possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine; possession of methamphetamine; possession of cannabis with intent to deliver; and possession of cannabis, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department.

On Sept. 1, police searched a residence in the 500 block of Sherman Avenue. Authorities said the officers recovered 149 grams of cannabis, 25.4 grams of methamphetamine, 61 grams of THC gummies, digital scales, packaging materials and $2,257.

The officers also found three rifles, four handguns and more than 100 rounds of ammunition, authorities said. One of the guns was a Polymer80 firearm without a serial number.

According to the news release, weapons charges are being considered.
