Germanfest brings authentic music, food and beer to Hoffman Estates for 20th year
Festivalgoers in lederhosen filled the crowd Saturday as edelweiss could be heard playing in the background at Hoffman Estates’ 20th annual Oktoberfest-themed Platzkonzert Germanfest.
The three-day festival included authentic German music, food and beer, a free Kinderplatz children’s activities area, crafts and inflatables in partnership with the Hoffman Estates Park District and a drone light show Saturday night.
The event featured Stein hoisting, stein carrying, and costume contests on Saturday as well as Dachshund races on Sunday.
