Voices Unlimited Chorus begins fall rehearsals for upcoming holiday concert

Sept. 15 marks the beginning of the fall rehearsal schedule for Voices Unlimited Chorus’ annual holiday concert, with this year’s theme, “Sing We Now of Christmas!”

Rehearsals are held from 6:45 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays from Sept. 15 through Dec. 1 at Journey of Hope United Methodist Church, Highland Avenue and Randall Road in Elgin. After the concert on Saturday, Dec. 5, the chorus will take a break until approximately the middle of February when they start preparing for the spring concert in May.

If you have attended one of the past concerts, you know the importance we place on choosing musical selections that audiences can easily recognize, or ones that are motivational even to the most demanding of our listeners.

This concert performance will be no different. “White Christmas,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” and “Sleigh Ride” are among the recognizable selections, while “A Joyful Hallelujah” with “The Hallelujah Chorus,” “Somewhere In My Memory,” “Someday at Christmas” and others will touch the hearts of everyone.
