Barrington’s St. Michael’s Episcopal Church welcomes new rector

St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Barrington announces that the Rev. Nathan G. Huddleston has accepted the call to become its new rector. Father Nate will preach and preside at St. Michael’s for the first time on Sunday, Sept. 27.

Father Nate comes to St. Michael’s from Christ Church Georgetown in Washington, D.C., where he served as associate rector. A native of Nashville, Tennessee, he was ordained to the priesthood in 2016 and previously served Episcopal congregations in Atlanta, Georgia, and Summit, New Jersey. He holds a Master of Divinity from the University of the South (Sewanee).

Parish ministry has always been at the heart of Father Nate’s calling, with a particular emphasis on building community, welcoming newcomers, developing lay leadership, and helping people discover the presence of God in the ordinary places of their lives.

“I believe the Church is meant to be a place where the deepest parts of our lives are taken seriously, where our joy and heartbreak belong at the same table, and where, every now and then, we catch a glimpse of God in the faces gathered around it,” said Father Nate. “Katherine and I cannot wait to make our home in Barrington and discover, alongside the people of St. Michael’s, what grace might have waiting for us there.”

On Sept. 27, the parish will welcome Father Nate and his wife, Katherine, at a reception between the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. services, and again after the 4 p.m. Evensong Concert.

Members of the Barrington community are warmly invited to attend any part of the day to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter of belonging, service, and spiritual growth at St. Michael’s.
