Chicago Dogs suffer walk-off heartbreak for second straight night

The Chicago Dogs' pitching let the team down late on Thursday night, as Cleburne walked off Chicago for the second straight night, winning in the bottom of the ninth inning 5-4.

Steven Lacey looked good early but struggled at the end of his start, giving up four earned runs in four innings, three of which came in the bottom of the fourth. For most of the rest of the way, the bullpen looked spectacular. Donny Tober twirled three scoreless, sitting down four.

A scoreless inning from Cade Herrmann in the eighth inning followed, with the Dogs looking to put together their most complete bullpen performance of the season. Unfortunately, with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Bryce Schaum gave up the game-winning hit to left field, and was hung with the loss.
