Two Palatine men arrested on weapons charges

Palatine police said two men were arrested Monday after officers found a stolen weapon during a traffic stop.

The stop occurred at 8:45 p.m. in the 1300 block of East Palatine Road, police said. Officers searched the vehicle and found two loaded firearms, one of which was determined to have been reported stolen, according to police.

Johan Useche-Acevedo, 27, of Palatine, was charged with one count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Juan Munevar-Ramirez, 20, of Palatine, was charged with two counts of the same charge.

Both were released with conditions following a detention hearing Tuesday. They are scheduled to return to court Sept. 15.
