Homeless man charged following home invasion

A homeless man was arrested this week following a home invasion in Des Plaines, according to a police news release.

Diego Rico, 35, is charged with home invasion, domestic battery and violating an order of protection. He also was wanted on an unspecified warrant.

Rico was arrested Tuesday after police responded to the 2900 block of Curtis Street to handle a complaint about an order of protection. A woman there said Rico had entered the home and battered her, according to the news release.

Rico was still on the scene and was arrested. He was charged two days later.
