Immersive, permanent Ray Bradbury exhibit unveiled at Waukegan History Museum at the Carnegie
The Waukegan Historical Society invites the public to the grand opening Friday of the new, permanent Ray Bradbury Library Exhibit at the Waukegan History Museum at the Carnegie, 1 N. Sheridan Road, Waukegan.
The event begins with a ribbon-cutting at noon with free museum admission extended until 6 p.m. In honor of the legendary author’s birthday, free admission will continue from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
The late Bradbury was born and raised in Waukegan and became one of the world’s celebrated authors. The immersive exhibit explores his childhood and the very library where he discovered the magic of books and began writing his earliest stories.
The opening follows a complete restoration of the historic building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a designated local landmark.
