Park district seeks community input on Prospect Heights bike path improvements

The Prospect Heights Park District is seeking community input as it pursues funding through the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) for improvements to the Prospect Heights Bike Path.

A survey due Sept. 4 can be accessed at https://forms.gle/eeGWMPyHqmJyP49GA.

A community meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 27 at Country Gardens Park, 901 N. Schoenbeck Road in Prospect Heights, with the rain location to be the Gary Morava Recreation Center at 110 W. Camp McDonald Road.

The roughly 4.2-mile trail now serves as an important recreational and active transportation corridor.

Community participation is an important part of the ITEP grant process and will help the park district identify priorities, demonstrate local support and develop a strong, competitive application, according to the district.
