Sheriff hosting “Lightsaver” event Friday in Des Plaines

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a Lightsaver event Friday in Des Plaines.

The event helps community members replace broken vehicle lights, such as taillights, headlights and license plate lights, for free. The repairs help avoid tickets, fees and traffic stops while improving roadway safety.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Oasis Mobile Home Park, 7500 Elmhurst Road, in Des Plaines.
