Ascension Illinois hosting blood drives in Elk Grove, Hoffman Estates

Versiti Blood Centers of Illinois will host blood drives at Ascension Alexian Brother in Elk Grove Village and Ascension Saint Alexius in Hoffman Estates this week and again in September amid an ongoing shortage.

Every donation has the potential to save three lives, officials said.

A blood drive will be held in rooms 2 and 3 of the Kennedy Conference Center at Alexian Brothers from 7 to 11 a.m. and again from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12.

The next blood drive will be held in rooms 1, 2 and 3 of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Conference Center at Saint Alexius from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13.

A third blood drive will be back at the Kennedy Conference Center in Elk Grove from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10.

Appointments are appreciated, but walk-ins are always welcome. All donors need to bring is a photo ID. Be sure to eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of water before donating. If you have questions, call (800) 786-4483.
