Men plead guilty to disorderly conduct for lying about $1.5 million jewelry robbery

Two men have pleaded guilty to felony disorderly conduct for telling police they had been robbed of more than $1.5 million in jewelry.

Mahmood Bashang and Pezhman Gilani Yahyavi pleaded guilty July 17 to felony disorderly conduct — filing a false report. Gilani Yahyavi, 46, lives in Glendale Heights. Bashang, who is 30, lives in Naperville.

Yahyavi and Bashang were sentenced to Second Chance Probation and 10 days in the sheriff’s work alternative program, according to DuPage County court records. They were charged in February.
