Fine Line Creative Arts Center to host Gathering for the Arts Aug. 21

Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles is hosting “Gathering for the Arts” on Friday, Aug, 21, at Revelry 675 in Batavia, offering attendees food, live music, auctions, and an open bar, with proceeds to support adult art education programs.

Tickets are $150 per person. There also will be live and silent auctions, with some amazing items and experiences up for grabs. You don’t have to be a member of the Fine Line community to attend this event; everyone is welcome to join in the fun.

This casual event will be 6 to 9.30 p.m. at Revelry 675, 675 S. River St. in Batavia. Tickets can be purchased at fineline.org

The nonprofit art center offers year-round adult art classes, from beginner to advanced, in a fantastic range of art forms, including ceramics, glassblowing, weaving, and blacksmithing.

Founded in 1979, the center is also home to the Kavanagh Gallery, which hosts 6-7 gallery shows each year featuring local and national artists and is always free to look around.

As well as art classes, Fine Line also provides an outlet, the Dempsey Artisan Shop, to help local artists to sell their art year-round, as well as an annual gift sale the weekend following Thanksgiving, which is a great place to begin your holiday shopping.

In recent years, the center also partnered with the Kane County Forest Preserve for the “Great Orb Hunt,” combining art with nature. Artists from Fine Line create unique glass and ceramic orbs, which are then hidden in Fine Line’s prairie and at two Kane County Forest Preserves in September for anyone to find.

The center also provides art experiences for the Joshua Tree Community, a St. Charles organization that improves the lives of young adults with intellectual disabilities, as well as team-building options for local companies.

As a nonprofit, events such as this one help Fine Line continue its mission to support and inspire adults through art experiences and education.

Fine Line is grateful to the main sponsors of this event, Cocoon from Geneva, a great place to shop for unique items and DAZ Creative, offering Experiential Production Services.
