On balance in letters choices
On July 26, I read two opinion pieces by posters who complained about the coverage of politics in the Daily Herald editorial section. They thought it was all pro-Democratic and all anti-Trump.
First of all, I think the coverage is generally balanced. I see articles posted from opposing points of view. I read the editorials every day, so I think the coverage is balanced.
Secondly, it would be interesting to know just how many letters come in that espouse different viewpoints. You have to take into consideration how many people write in and if the majority, let’s say, has one view point or the other.
I don’t know who these two posters are, but I do know that there are pro Trump letters published on a regular basis.
As the two letters on the 26th were rather scathing, I hope these two gentlemen figure out that despite the tone of their letters, they were published. If the Daily Herald was so inclined to be anti-Trump, these letters would not have been published.
