Outside the box thinking for next Bulls broadcaster

No one can replace legendary Bulls broadcaster Stacey King. No one should ever try to replicate King's colorful phrases, which came to him so naturally.

Sadly, King passed on June 7 and the Bulls need to hire a replacement. Adam Amin has so much on his plate already, he can't be flying solo through the NBA season.

Therefore, a definitive list of potential Bulls television analysts has been assembled. Consider it a template as the team works through a challenging process.

Granted, this is the opinion of one person, and the sole criteria is who would be most interesting to listen to. No thought was given to whether a person would actually take the job. Just ask, Bulls — if the answer is no, move on to the next name. Obviously, ties to the team are required:

1. Jimmy Butler: Just retire already. The aging Warriors aren't worth all that rehab from an ACL tear.

2. Scott Skiles: He's been way too quiet since his last NBA coaching job ended (Orlando, 2016). Still the best quote among Bulls coaches, post-championship era.

3. Brad Miller: This would be an inspired choice. Dry humor with a laid-back country tone. Almost too perfect.

4. Metta Sandiford-Artest: This is the former Ron Artest and Metta World Peace. He had some regrettable moments in his NBA career, but was also remarkably funny and friendly when first drafted by the Bulls in 1999. A mental health advocate, Artest could be helpful to Bulls fans, in theory.

5. Andres Nocioni: Don't think this phrase would ever get old, “The Bulls, they played terrible tonight and that's it.”

6. Robin Lopez: His top-notch humor while never changing facial expressions was epic. Also, his battles with NBA mascots could continue.

7. Young Joakim Noah: “What's fun about Cleveland” era Joakim would be fantastic. After that, he started to think a little before he spoke, which was not as much fun. Great personality, though.

8. Jalen Rose: He was very good in the locker room. During his short time with Bulls, could see him auditioning for a television job in real time.

9. Jamal Crawford: He'd be great at it, but might be too busy coaching his son J.J., possibly the best high school player in the Class of 2029.

10. Jannero Pargo: Chicago native was the locker room comedian back in his era. Currently working as an assistant coach for the Pacers.

11. Charles Oakley: Perennial first-team, all-interview honoree as a player. Also a good chance to put his Madison Square Garden ban to the test.

12. Tom Thibodeau: Tends to say the same things day after day, but the basketball knowledge is unmatched.

13. Goran Dragic: He was a topic of King’s greatest in-game outburst. Give him an audition.
