Go-kart racing venue coming to former Wonderverse space in Oak Brook this fall
A new multilevel go-kart racing and entertainment venue is set to open this fall in the former Wonderverse space at Oakbrook Center mall in Oak Brook.
RPM Raceway, which has four locations on the East Coast, will open its first Midwest location in the 90,000-square-foot space left vacant when Wonderverse, which featured attractions inspired by Sony Pictures Entertainment films, television series and video games, closed in December 2025.
According to a news release, the venue will feature more than 45,000 square feet of multilevel karting across two tracks, offering pro, adult and junior racing.
Together, the two tracks would form the RPM Megatrack, the longest multilevel go-kart track in the Midwest, the company said.
The venue is being developed in partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment.
“RPM Oakbrook Terrace is our most ambitious venue yet and our first step into the Midwest,” founder and CEO Andrew Farage said in the release. “Through our partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment, we’re bringing the Chicago area its longest multilevel go-kart track and a competitive entertainment experience built for families, friends, and colleagues.”
Guests will also find a range of gaming, entertainment and food and beverage options, which will be announced in the coming weeks.
Other locations feature redemption arcades, virtual and augmented reality adventures, bowling alleys and Gel Blaster — a combination of paintball, laser tag and virtual gaming.
The location will also feature 10,000 square feet of flexible event space for parties, corporate outings and other group activities.
