Chicago Dogs falter vs. Kansas City

The Chicago Dogs suffered an unfortunate 4-3 loss in their series opener against the Kansas City Monarchs at Impact Field on Friday evening.

Chicago controlled the game for the first eight innings. Starting pitcher Andres Diaz threw 7⅔ innings, allowing one earned run while striking out six. Chicago got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth when Tyreque Reed drove in Jaxx Groshans with a single. Cooper Weiss followed with a sacrifice fly that drove in Zack Stokes. Reed made it 3-0 in the bottom of the sixth with another RBI single, this time driving in Stokes.
