Rescue underway of 2 workers in storm sewer in Downers Grove

Firefighters are working to rescue two workers trapped in a storm sewer in Downers Grove.

The village reports that around 12:50 p.m. Monday, workers at a sewer construction area in the 800 block of Curtiss Street flagged down police.

The rescue effort was still in progress as of 3:15 p.m., according to a news release posted on the village’s Facebook page.
