Fear of non-whites drives ICE policy
In the next four years, census data suggests that two out of three babies born in this country will not be white — wholly terrifying to Stephen Miller, the president and Christian Nationalists. To reverse this trend, they started poisoning the feelings we have toward immigrants entering and living here peacefully.
First, it was that they were diseased and carrying drugs. Then it was the Haitians who were eating neighbors’ cats and dogs. And finally, their presence would poison the blood of our country.
I did not believe any of these claims any more than I believed Trump when he said the war with Iran would be over in one or two days.
All of these scare tactics along with a border that was admittedly too porous and an uneducated populous was enough to pass an $800 billion ICE program to last 10 years. We will cut spending on needed programs to pay for this.
Repeated surveys demonstrate that 79% of Americans think immigration is a good thing. Imagine nine more years of deportations and shooting residents of all races who get in the way so we can lighten the complexion of our neighbors.
