Geneva man gets probation on child porn possession

A Geneva man has pleaded guilty to possession of child sexual abuse materials.

Karl P. Bibler, 28, of the 1500 block of West State Street, accepted a sentence Thursday of 24 months of sex offender probation and 30 days in jail.

Bibler was charged in September 2025 with eight counts of reproducing child sexual abuse materials depicting a person under age 13 and eight counts of possession of child sexual abuse materials. All were felony charges.

Bibler will have to register for life as a sexual offender.

The case was investigated by the sexual exploitation unit of the Kane County state’s attorney’s office and the Kane County sheriff.
