Open fishing clinics offered at Aurora’s Oakhurst Forest Preserve

The Forest Preserve District of Kane County invites the public to enjoy evenings of fishing fun during upcoming Open Fishing Clinics at Lake Patterson in Oakhurst Forest Preserve.

Offered in partnership with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Urban and Community Fishing Program, the free clinics will teach participants basic angling skills, including casting, knot tying and fish identification. Instructors will also demonstrate ethical angling practices.

Participants may bring their own fishing equipment or borrow loaner tackle and rods while supplies last. No registration is required.

Open Fishing Clinics will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays, July 29 and Aug. 12, at Oakhurst Forest Preserve, 1680 Fifth Ave., Aurora.

All clinics are free. For more information, call (630) 444-3190 or email programs@kaneforest.com.
