Lake Zurich’s Alpine Fest Parade caps off three-day community celebration

The smoke cleared and the heat let up just in time to create the perfect setting Sunday for Lake Zurich’s Alpine Fest Parade.

Hundreds lined the route from Seth Paine Elementary School on Miller Road to Lions Park and cheered on marching bands, local officials, community organizations and dozens of other parade participants.

The parade kicked off the third and final day of Alpine Fest, a Lake Zurich tradition since 1945. Held in the village’s downtown and sponsored by the Lions Club, the three-day festival also featured live music, local food, carnival rides and more.
