Outdoor Naperville concert canceled due to heat, air quality

The BrightSide Theatre in Naperville has canceled tonight’s “Summer In the Parks: Classic Broadway” concert due to a high heat index and poor air quality.

The concert was to be held at the Millennium Carillon near downtown.

The theater said it did so out of concern for performers, workers, volunteers and audience members.

The National Weather Service issued an air quality alert for the Chicago area due to the arrival of smoke from Canadian wildfires. It also predicts a “very warm” heat index of 86 for the early evening in the Naperville area.
