South Third Street to close July 25-26 for Geneva Arts Fair
With large crowds expected to attend the Geneva Arts Fair later this month, the Geneva Police Department is reminding motorists that most of South Third Street will be closed during the festival.
The Geneva Arts Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, July 25-26. To accommodate the event, parking on Third Street from James to South streets will be prohibited beginning at 3 p.m. Friday, July 24. Portions of the 200 and 300 blocks of Franklin Street also will be closed.
South Third Street (James to South streets) will be shut down to traffic at 5 p.m. Friday, July 24, to allow artists to set up their booths.
“No Parking” signs will be posted the morning of July 24. Vehicles remaining on the streets after parking restrictions take effect will be towed.
The police department may use a law enforcement drone during the festival to support public safety by providing real-time aerial monitoring for police officers and emergency management personnel.
Third and Franklin streets are expected to reopen to traffic by 8:30 p.m. Sunday, July 26.
