Corn Fest and Craft Fair Aug. 1 at Community Church of Rolling Meadows

The 69th Annual Corn Fest and Craft Fair at Community Church of Rolling Meadows will return again this year in its traditional format. It will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, wit a Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission to the grounds is free.

The menu features all the corn you care to eat while on the premises, grown locally and picked just hours before it is boiled and smothered in butter. The meal also includes your choice of grilled sandwich (hamburger, brat, hot dog or veggie option with grilled onions and condiments) as well as a slice of watermelon and a cold beverage. Kona Ice will be available again this year as an additional purchase from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Seating under a canopy as well as open air seating will be available for rain or shine enjoyment.

Kids can look forward to free face painting and balloon creations from noon to 3 p.m.

Meal tickets may be purchased at the door for $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and $5 for children 4-10. Children 3 and younger will receive a free hot dog meal. And back by popular demand, there will be a drive-through to enable guests to get a meal to go without getting out of their cars. Fresh picked uncooked sweet corn also will be bagged for sale by the dozen or half-dozen.

A tradition since 1957, this popular event is a source of community fellowship each August. Come and spend the day dining, visiting and shopping. The Craft Fair will feature 79 booths filled with handmade arts and crafts by area artisans, as well as other vendors.
