Rolling Meadows motorcyclist dies after crash with minivan in Hoffman Estates

Hoffman Estates police are investigating a collision between a minivan and motorcycle Sunday that killed the motorcyclist and seriously injured a passenger in the other vehicle.

Henry Pineda-Rodriguez, 20, of Rolling Meadows, was transported to St. Alexius Medical Center and pronounced dead at 3:40 p.m. Sunday.

The crash occurred just after 3 p.m., police said.

Preliminary reports indicate the minivan was turning from southbound Kingsdale Road onto westbound Golf Road when it collided with the westbound motorcycle, police said.

The 21-year-old passenger of the Toyota minivan is from Hoffman Estates and was transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

The driver of the minivan wasn’t injured and is cooperating with investigators, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
