Friends of the Arlington Heights Memorial Library Summer Used Book Sale Aug. 7-9
The Friends of the Arlington Heights Memorial Library will host their Summer Used Book Sale Aug. 7-9. The standard price of Adult hardcover and softcover books is $3.
• Friday, Aug. 7: 6-7:30 p.m. Members’ Night (Membership required)
• Saturday, Aug. 8: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Adults’ and Children’s Sales
• Sunday, Aug. 9: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children’s $8 Bag Sale, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Adult Sale (no discounts)
The adult sale is held in the Hendrickson Room, on the second floor, and the children’s sale is held in the Cardinal Room on the first floor near the Dunton Avenue entrance. The adult sale will feature nonfiction books sorted by category, fiction, vintage books, DVDs, Blu-Rays, music CDs, vinyl records, audiobooks and Great Courses. Magazines will be for sale Friday and Saturday only. The children’s sale features board and picture books, easy readers, novels and nonfiction, teen fiction, comics, toys and games, DVDs and CDs.
The auction on the second floor will include adult and children’s selections. Bidding begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, and ends at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8. Winners will be called Saturday. There will be no Buy-It-Now table in August.
Due to popular demand, the sale will feature a $1 special table that will include vintage, adult nonfiction, oversized/coffee table books and more.
Friday Members’ Night
• A person must be a member to enter Members’ Night. Memberships may be purchased that night at the sale or in advance online at ahml.info/friends for $5 per individual or $10 per family.
• To get a place in line early, members may pick up a number at the second floor reception desk beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7.
• Friday Members’ Night Line-Up: Shoppers should arrive 15 minutes before the sale begins to line up in numerical order for entry. Members may enter using their paper or digital card or a number from the Membership table, after those with numbers have gone in.
Sale Requirements & Information
• Scanning is not allowed at FOL sales on any device. Please call or text outside the salerooms.
• Children’s Sale Only: 25% Teacher discount with valid ID. Not valid at bag sale on Sunday.
• Everyone’s patience and courtesy to others is appreciated.
