Flooding closes North Aurora Village Hall

The North Aurora Village Hall is closed until further notice due to flooding.

Monday’s village board meeting has been canceled, as has Tuesday’s Plan Commission meeting.

Sewage backed up into the building due to heavy rains late last week.

The village hall, at 25 E. State St., is on the east bank of the Fox River.

The village estimates that more than 9 inches of rain fell from Thursday through Saturday.

People who need to conduct business with village officials are asked to call (630) 897-8228.

In 2013, the village hall flooded after heavy rains. At that time, officials said the building sits in a low spot in the Fox Metro Water Reclamation District sewage system and is connected to a portion that had combined stormwater and sanitary sewage pipes.
