Authorities recover St. Charles woman’s body from Fox River
Authorities are investigating the death of a woman whose body was recovered from the Fox River near St. Charles Wednesday.
The Kane County coroner’s office identified the woman as 41-year-old Amanda Flick of St. Charles.
While the coroner’s office awaits toxicology results, the preliminary cause of death is listed as drowning.
Fox River & Countryside Fire Rescue District Chief Michael Hill said the woman’s body was recovered near the Red Gate Road bridge, in an unincorporated part of Kane County north of St. Charles.
A boater and a person on shore notified authorities of the body just before 5:30 p.m., Hill said.
