Hoffman Estate hosting Citizen’s Public Works Academy

The Hoffman Estates Public Works Department is offering the community a first-person view into its operations through the upcoming Citizen’s Public Works Academy.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about infrastructure maintenance, service provision and equipment used to accomplish the many tasks and operations the department oversees.

The academy will meet from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Susan H. Kenley-Rupnow Public Works Center, 2305 Pembroke Ave., beginning July 15 through Aug. 26. A dinner will be provided on the final night of the program, and a special academy graduation ceremony will be held at village hall in the fall.
