‘Prairie Pause’ to offer ‘Little House’ experience in downtown Chicago

Cottagecore vibes on the Mag Mile? An upcoming pop-up will offer a bit of the 1870s frontier over Fourth of July weekend in downtown Chicago.

“The Prairie Pause,” a free, immersive experience inspired by the July 9 release of the Netflix series “Little House on the Prairie,” will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, July 3, and noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 4, at Pioneer Court, 401 N. Michigan Ave.

According to a news release from Netflix, the pop-up will feature an authentic covered wagon, rustic timber archways, curated pioneer picnic baskets and tactile crafting stations.

Visitors can unwind on custom picnic blankets under premium shade structures, enjoy fresh baguettes and locally sourced jams from Chicago artisans, and participate in traditional pioneer craft activities.

Netflix’s new adaptation of the Laura Ingalls Wilder classic stars Luke Bracey, Crosby Fitzgerald, Skywalker Hughes, and Alice Halsey. For information on the show, visit netflix.com/LittleHouseonthePrairie.
