Man faces gun, drug charges after road argument in Bensenville
A Streamwood man is facing felony charges, accused of pointing a gun at a man during a road rage incident in Bensenville, authorities said.
Arizona Gould, 28, of the 700 block of Suffolk Court, is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a repeat felony offender, a Class X felony punishable by 6 to 30 years in prison.
He is also charged with felony aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon, felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor aggravated assault, reckless conduct and disorderly conduct, according to a news release from the DuPage County state’s attorney’s office.
Bensenville police said they were called around 12:40 p.m. Thursday to a gasoline station at 101 W. Irving Park Road for a report of a man with a firearm. The caller said a man driving a red Jeep followed him into the parking lot after their two vehicles nearly collided at a nearby intersection.
They argued, and the man said Gould pointed a handgun at him.
Police found the Jeep at a nearby Subway restaurant. They say they found a loaded Canik 9 mm pistol in a garbage container in a single-occupant restroom in the restaurant, underneath a plastic garbage bag, after Gould came out of the restroom, according to court records.
Authorities say he had about 14 grams of cocaine hidden in a bag for a sandwich he bought.
On Friday, DuPage County Judge Joshua Dieden ordered that he be kept in jail pretrial. His next court date is July 20.
