Fire leaves Naperville home uninhabitable

No injuries were reported after a late Wednesday night fire left a Naperville home uninhabitable, authorities said.

Firefighters responded at 11:26 p.m. to the report of a car on fire inside an attached garage on the 1000 block of Devonshire Court, according to the Naperville Fire Department.

Firefighters found flames and smoke in the attached garage, officials said. They also confirmed that all the occupants were out of the home.

While crews battled the blaze, firefighters searching the home rescued two dogs and a cat.

After extinguishing the fire, crews continued to overhaul the site and worked to extinguish smoldering embers, ensuring the hazard was contained, officials said.

Authorities said damage is estimated at $150,000, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
