Mundelein water service to be interrupted Wednesday and Thursday
Mundelein’s Lake Michigan water supply will be temporarily interrupted Wednesday and Thursday because of scheduled system maintenance — but drinkable water still will be available, officials said.
Affected homes and businesses will get water from wells rather than Lake Michigan during the break, which is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. The Central Lake County Joint Action Water Agency, which provides water to the village, is planning to work on the system, Mundelein officials said in a social media post.
Water may taste or smell different, according to the announcement.
Lake Michigan water should be flowing through faucets again by 2 p.m. Thursday.
Residents should avoid irrigating lawns during the service interruption.
The village’s website and social media accounts will announce when the regular system is running again.
