Arlington Heights man charged with possessing, distributing child sex abuse materials
An Arlington Heights man is facing charges of possessing and distributing child sex abuse materials.
Ian Stehmeier, 32, of the 400 block of North Windsor Drive, is charged was arrested Wednesday and ordered held in jail pretrial Thursday.
The Cook County sheriff’s office began investigating Stehmeier in December after multiple tips traced child sex abuse material digital files to the same cellphone number and email address.
Detectives traced the IP addresses used to upload the files back to Stehmeier’s home address and an Arlington Heights Jewel-Osco where he worked.
Detectives interviewed Stehmeier June 10 and took possession of his phone. A search of the phone uncovered more than 150 images and videos of child sex abuse materials.
His next court date was not provided.
