Enjoy rides, food, fun and more at Libertyville Days

With the theme “Stars, Stripes & Libertyville Nights,” the annual Libertyville Days Festival returns through Sunday, June 21, in downtown Libertyville. The festival is a yearly fundraising event to support the Libertyville Civic Center Foundation.

The carnival will take place from noon to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 19-20; and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 21, on Church Street and Cook Street and in the Church Street Municipal Parking Lot and Sunrise Rotary Park. Sensory-friendly “Flower Hours” with reduced lights and sounds will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Friday. Unlimited ride specials will be offered for $35 from noon to 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The Libertyville Days Parade will step off and 10 a.m. Saturday, June 20, starting at the Metra Train Station, heading south on Milwaukee Avenue to Highland Middle School at Garfield Avenue and Rockland Road. The Grand Marshals will be George and Steve Frangos, owners of Liberty Restaurant.

An Arts and Crafts Fair will be held in Cook Park, from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Church Street Eats will offer food and beverage selections from local restaurants from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday on West Church Street between Brainerd and Milwaukee avenues. The Beer Garden in the Civic Center Parking Lot and on Church Street will be open from 4 p.m. to midnight Friday, noon to midnight Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Main Stage entertainment includes OLDPlay at 4:30 p.m. and Sneezy and 8:30 p.m. Friday; School of Rock Libertyville at noon, Joey Acopiado Band at 2 p.m., Indika at 5 p.m. and Soul Kitchen at 8:30 p.m. Saturday; and Ivy Ford at noon and Mellencougar at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Activities in Cook Park include a Child Fingerprinting and ID event hosted by the Libertyville Police Department from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, a chance to meet a member of the Lake County Sheriff's canine team from 1:10-1:50 p.m. Saturday, a root beer making demonstration by Perfect Brewing Supply from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday and more.
