Ramp closures, lane shifts planned Thursday on Route 53

Route 53 ramps at Dundee Road in the Arlington Heights and Palatine area will be closed Thursday night as part of an ongoing Illinois Department of Transportation improvement project, officials say.

The entrance and exit ramps will be closed from about 7 p.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Friday to accommodate a planned lane shift.

The northbound and southbound lanes north of Rand Road will be shifted to the outside lanes Thursday to allow for storm sewer crossing work in the inside lanes. After the shift is complete, two lanes will be open on both northbound and southbound Route 53.
