Arlington Heights police investigating reported attack near Lake Arlington
Arlington Heights police are investigating an attack that happened late Sunday night near Lake Arlington.
Police said they were alerted around 11:15 p.m. by a driver who was flagged down by a “distressed” 18-year-old woman near the intersection of Windsor Drive and Jonquil Circle.
The woman told investigators she was walking home when she was approached by a man she didn’t know riding a bicycle.
She said the man kept asking, “What your name,” then grabbed her, pushed her to the ground and began choking her.
The woman was able to escape and flag down the driver.
Police said the woman suffered injuries that are not considered life-threatening; she was reunited with her family.
