Guinness World Record attempt draws soccer fans to Fox Valley Mall

Soccer enthusiasts gathered Saturday at Fox Valley Mall in Aurora to attempt a Guinness World Record.

The goal was a record for the most people juggling soccer balls simultaneously. More than 100 people — mostly children and parents — registered for the event, which organizers had hoped would draw more than 20,000 people worldwide.

The stunt was timed to build excitement for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which starts June 11. Games will be played across North America.

“This is a celebration of soccer and community,” mall marketing director Kristina Arias said. “We're all just celebrating the excitement leading up to the World Cup.”

Participants were able to pose for photographs with a World Cup trophy, too.
