Geneva to host June 29 program on parkway trees and recycling

The city’s Natural Resources Committee will be highlighting Geneva’s parkway tree and recycling programs during its next lecture series presentation at 6 p.m. Monday, June 29, at the Geneva Public Library, 227 S. Seventh St.

With over 2,000 available planting sites, the city has expanded its parkway tree program to offer plantings in both the fall and spring.

Assistant Public Works Director Nate Landers, Streets Superintendent Dan Javed, and Administrative Analyst Joseph Viso will discuss updated parkway tree options, best practices for mulching and watering, and the digital resource available to residents seeking more information about parkway trees.

The presentation also will cover the Recycling Coach mobile app, battery recycling, and the new holiday light recycling drop-off locations that will be available this fall.

Registration is recommended for this free presentation. For more event information, visit the Geneva Public Library District’s website, gpld.org.
