Pedestrian struck and killed by Metra train in Arlington Heights
Metra officials said a pedestrian was struck and killed by a commuter train Monday afternoon in Arlington Heights.
The collision happened at about 1:45 when an inbound train struck the pedestrian near the intersection of Northwest Highway and Ridge Avenue, west of downtown.
An autopsy is likely to happen Tuesday.
Service on the line was restored around 3:15 p.m., according to Metra officials.
