Elk Grove Village shredding and recycling event June 6
Elk Grove Village and the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County are hosting a document destruction and electronics recycling event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 6.
The event will take place at the James Paul Petri Public Works Facility, 450 E. Devon Ave., in Elk Grove.
Identification will be checked to verify residency in one of SWANCC’s member communities. Materials from businesses, institutions or schools will not be accepted.
Paper must be dry, clean, and loose. Residents should remove metal clips, plastic sleeves, folders, and binders, but small staples are OK. Place paper in paper shopping bags or cardboard boxes. There’s a limit to six bags or boxes per vehicle.
Accepted recycling materials include: cellphones; computer monitors; keyboards and mice; printers; televisions; video game consoles; and video recorders/players.
