Des Plaines Public Library launching reading program with party

The Des Plaines Public Library will launch its summer reading challenge with an all-ages party on Tuesday, June 9.

The bash is set to run from 1 to 4 p.m. in the library plaza, 1501 Ellinwood St. Admission is free, and registration isn’t needed.

Games, face and arm painting, crafts and other activities are planned.

The event will move indoors if needed because of inclement weather.
