Geneva expands grant program promoting tourism and events

Geneva City Council members have agreed to expand the city’s Destination Geneva Grant Program, which provides reimbursement funding for special events that boost tourism, overnight stays and innovative experiences.

The program, launched in 2025, has provided reimbursement grants up to $2,500 to recipients, including the Earth Made Market, Autumn Fest, Thriller On 38, and the Artists Sunday Road Rally.

As part of the program expansion approved by the city council on May 18, the maximum grant has been increased to $10,000 per event or project, officials said.

Eligible applicants will include registered nonprofit organizations as well as Geneva-based for-profit businesses acting as a collective to execute an event or project.

All applicants must have their principal place of business within the city’s corporate limits. Applications and additional information are available on the Destination Geneva Grant Program web page.

Questions can be directed to the city’s Economic Development Department at (630) 232-7449.
