Palatine Library announces summer reading program, ‘Plant A Seed, Read!’

The Palatine Library’s summer reading program, “Plant a Seed, Read!,” will be from Monday, June 1, to Saturday, Aug. 15.

Sign up by visiting any of Palatine Library’s locations or to sign up online, go to Beanstack, palatinelibrary.beanstack.org/reader365. For Palatine cardholders only.

Sign up and get a scratch-off card for a chance to win a prize, while supplies last. Save your scratch-off card for freebies and discounts around town, provided by the library’s sponsors.

After completing the program, get a T-shirt or a tote bag, donated by The Friends of Palatine Library. Claim your completion prize by Saturday, Aug. 15, while supplies last. Shirt size selection is limited.

All ages can drop in for the Kick-off Party between noon and 3 p.m. Saturday, June 6. Celebrate the Summer Reading Program with family bingo, airbrush face-painting, a Workshop beaded activity, and a free snow cone from Kona Ice.

The Kick-off Party will have a special performance by Miss Jamie’s Garden Friends from 1:30-2:15 p.m. Miss Jamie sings songs about making the world a greener place. The performance is for all ages. Tickets are available now. For Palatine cardholders only.
