Authorities identify woman killed in I-94 crash near Gurnee

A woman who died early Saturday in a crash involving a semitrailer truck and an SUV on I-94 near Gurnee has been identified as 35-year-old Maria Conchita Perez of Waukegan.

Conchita Perez was a passenger in a Mazda SUV involved in the crash, which occurred about 5:04 a.m. along I-94 between Route 120 and O’Plaine Road.

She was pronounced dead in the emergency room at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Preliminary results of an autopsy Tuesday showed she died of blunt force injuries as a result of the crash, according to the Lake County Coroner’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
