Police: Man charged with aggravated battery after fight with Gurnee hotel employees
A man is facing charges after police say he hit several people with a baseball bat during a fight at a Gurnee hotel.
Cameron R. Scott, 35, was inside a hotel on the 3700 block of Grand Avenue around 11 a.m. when he got into an argument an employee, according to a news release from the Gurnee Police Department.
Scott went behind the hotel counter and hit one of the employees — who had been trying to grab a baseball bat from under the counter — and then Scott used the bat to strike that employee and others, the release said.
Officers from the Gurnee Police Department arrived to find Scott restrained by employees in the parking lot. He was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated battery.
Scott and three of the hotel employees were taken to a hospital for their injuries. None of their conditions were available.
Scott is expected to appear in bond court on Wednesday.
This remains an active investigation. No additional information was available Tuesday evening.
