Protect freedom: Vote
Americans are pro-freedom. They have been enchanted with living in a country where women could control their own bodies; that healthcare was a working condition that could someday follow the majority of other countries with one system for everyone; that black and brown people could vote and have a say in the state and national government; that immigrants came and were found, throughout the society, working toward the next step up. There was so much America promised and the current administration has taken away.
Americans still are pro-freedom. Their eyes have begun to clear as they watch mask-covered soldiers come into cities and raid people’s homes without warrants. They watch as minority thinking is allowed to place restrictions on people’s freedom to read, to control their own bodies, live in peace and vote. While other countries continue to march into the future of regenerative energy use, this administration still espouses the lies told by oil companies that climate change is a hoax.
Freedom-loving Americans are waking up to what was perpetrated on them since the 1980s. In the eighties, people believed they could work toward a four-day work week and spend time with their families. Instead, Reagan Economics started an insidious war on Americans, beginning with sending the money up to the rich and letting the people deal with it. A reason why there are so few companies who own so many products and services. Over the years, people such as the Heritage Foundation made it into a book, Project 2025, used by the current administration to run the country into the gutter.
Where has our freedom gone? We refuse to accept this. Americans are beginning to exert the strongest tool our constitution has given us, our vote. Get out and vote.
