Local P.E.O. Chapter awards scholarship to Glen Ellyn student
P.E.O. Chapter IR-Lombard recently awarded its annual scholarship to Alyssa Canton Ahlgrim, a 2026 graduate from Glenbard East High School in Lombard. Alyssa will be attending Cottey College in Nevada, Missouri, majoring in political science, with a minor in environmental studies.
Alyssa credited her environmental science and horticultural instructor, David Krodel with providing the most impactful academic memory of her Glenbard East High School experience.
Alyssa shared that, “Mr. Krodel motivated me the most to worker harder and understood me as a person who inspired me to do my very best. I chose to pursue a career as an environmental lawyer thanks to Mr. Krodel’s insight and encouragement.”
Alyssa is grateful to all her family and friends for pushing her to succeed in academics, choir and theater, during her time at Glenbard East. She will never forget all of the amazing experiences Glenbard East provided.
